The Durufle Requiem

Thistle Rose Academy of Arts in collaboration with musicians of the Troy Metro
Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mr. Travis Cook present Requiem , Op. 9 by Maurice Durufle on May 11th at 7 p.m. at Trinity in the Woods Episcopal Church (26880 La Muera St., Farmington Hills, MI 48334). The Requiem is a 1947 composition and arguably his most performed work. that was revised in 1961 and will feature choir with organ and orchestra. The thematic material is taken primarily from the Mass of the Dead, based on Gregorian chant tones. The concert will also include performances by the Thistle Rose Academy of Arts Chamber Choir of Ubi Caritas by Maurice Durufle and 2 other secular pieces.
