Angela Theis Sings!

Chamber Music at the Scarab Club is thrilled to welcome back acclaimed soprano Angela Theis as the featured artist on the series’ second concert at Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church! Don’t miss this incredible Detroit-based vocalist in a rare performance with string quartet, featuring members of the Detroit Opera Orchestra. The main work on the program is American composer Arthur Shepherd’s achingly beautiful Triptych for Soprano and String Quartet. Violinists Velda Kelly and Laura Roelofs will open the program with an unusual but engaging selection of Baroque and Fiddle duos, including pieces by well-known masters Handel, Rameau and Telemann, as well as the more contemporary Mark O’Connor and the great Celtic composer, Turlough O’Carolan.
