Join us from 1pm to 2pm on October 27th for the launch of an engaging series of historical presentations at the Packard Proving Grounds, featuring interesting speakers and fascinating topics. Our first event will be about the Great Lakes’ White Hurricane of 1913.

Speaker Charlie Shelton is on a mission to inspire others to become passionate about Great Lakes history, culture, and natural resources. Known for his engaging presentations through Southeastern Michigan, Charlie’s expertise and enthusiasm make him a sought-after speaker. When he’s not sharing his knowledge you can find him exploring the trails of the local Metroparks.

The world’s largest inland sea, the Great Lakes Region, faces difficult weather in November. The fure of unexpected storms can cause great damage, and the White Hurricane of 1913 was one such storm. Join us as we delve into the history of this unknown once-in-a-lifetime tempest and learn how it impacted Michigan and the nation.
