J.S. Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” at Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit

Written in the last decade of his life, J.S. Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” is designed around a single theme. Over the course of fourteen fugues and four canons, Bach develops this idea with increasing complexity. Shuntaro Sugie will perform the entire monumental work upon the Cathedral’s harpsichord.
