The RSO begins its 63rd season in concert with a tribute to two European composers, Gioacchino Antonio Rossini and Antonin Dvorak. The lively first half of the program features Rossini’s overture to ‘La Gazza Ladra’ (“The Thieving Magpie”) and Dvorak’s “Czech Suite, Op. 39.” After intermission, settle in for Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 7 in D Minor.” In the words of Music Director Zeljko Milicevic, it is “one of the most beautiful, romantic symphonies ever written, full of power and orchestral beauty.”
